I was tired all the time. I kept feeling like there was so much more to do with my life. I felt trapped. I felt like my life was passing by, and every day it was a challenge just to get out of bed. I felt hope slipping through my fingers.
When I reached 46, something changed for me. I was on my way to 50, then 60, then....what if my life ended and I was still trying to please everyone and push my needs aside? What if I died miserable?

At 46, I realized that my needs are just as important as everyone else's.
I deserved joy in my life.
I started to make changes. I began to re-evaluate relationships. I looked at my kids' futures. What kind of an example did I want to set for them?
I made some pretty drastic changes. I moved 1000 miles, to a new city and a new life. I ended some relationships that were toxic. I set out on a brand new career. I began to write again, one of my first passions. (I've published 4 books since then! Take a look here.)
Do you know what I found? My kids (they are 23, 21, and 15, so they aren't little anymore) had seen how miserable I was. They ached for me, but didn't know how to help. Seeing me happy and fulfilled has given them an example of how to pursue their dreams! They are so much happier now that they see me happy.

I know there are other women out there who feel like I did: trapped, unfulfilled, and maybe even pretty miserable.
My mission in life is to help them design a life of joy. I use a compass as my logo because it reminds me that my life got way off track, but I could redirect my path, so I did. You can, too. |
